Very rare self winding pocket watch by Wuilleumier Freres in solid 14k gold case.

The self-winding mechanism is based on pedometer principles, according patent by company of 1892.
Similar principle was used by several manufacturers of this time, seems that version from Von Loehr is most often to found.
According the book "The self-winding watches" by C. Sabrier, version by Wuilleumier was probably most successful of such implementations of automatic winding complication.
Practically all of similar watches, including Wuilleumier was being produced in silver or metal cases.
This watch is rare expensive version with cut and compensated balance and high number of jewels.
Last sale of Wuilleumier watch on international auctions was on auction of Dr. Crott, in Germany in 2016 (sale 93, lot 384). The watch in silver case was sold for 3500 euros (including buyers premium).
Condition
The watch appears to be in good condition, work as it should, automatic winding functions correctly.
Cosmetically watch appears to be in good condition.
Engine turned case is in very good condition.
Dial seems to be flawless.
Mineral glass, original hands.
Diameter is 48mm, height without bow is 60mm, weight is 94 grams..
