According experts of Dorotheum auction house (Vienna), such watches were gifts from Emperor Francis Joseph I of Austria.

Huguenin Freres.
The Huguenin Freres company dates back to 1868.
To the end of XIX century it specialised in the Niel method, which is used to give silver watches a black finish. This method made them famous worldwide and as a result of their new-found success, they switched from manual production to industrial production in 1899, building the factory in Le Locle that is still used today.
Condition
The watch is beautifully preserved, the niello silver is in excellent condition without visible damages.
Dial seems to be in good condition, without cracks / hairlines.
Movement is in good working condition, though time keeping is not guaranteed.
Overall good collector piece.
