Rare and beautiful verge fusee pocket watch with concealed erotical scene.
Diameter of the watch is 40mm, height without bow is 51 mm, weight is 51 grams.
The painting is very delicate and is beautifully preserved.
Very nice item from galant epoch of Louis XV.
The movement is signed by Louis Fieffer - probably one of the five sons of Jean-Jacques Fieffer, (reputed watchmaker, Master in 1725, member of Jury in 1748-1751). Tardy doesn't mentions Louis Fieffer himeslf, but mentions several members of Fieffer family, active in Paris in 1760-1770s, should be his brothers.
Such a watches with concealed erotical scenes normally goes for 8000-8000 (Lot 2812 on Christies sale in Hong Kong in 2012, lot 337 on Antiquorum sale of May 2011, etc), don't miss it on reasonable price.
