Beautiful Breguet watch of
Abraham Louis Breguet period from early 1800.
Diameter is 52mm.
Watch comes with copy of extracts from archives.
According the certificate, the watch was purchased by to Monsieur Desoir on 10 Florial, An 10 (30 April of 1802).
The same watch is illustrated in George Daniels ‘The Art of Breguet’ (p.195, Breguet N 1369, sold equally in 1802).
The virtually identical watch (N 1407, sold in 1805) shown on the same page of Daniels book was sold by Antiquorum (auction of 15 October, lot 16) for 41 300 CHF..
The watch is equipped with
“répétition a cuvette” - dumb repeating to the case.
Not very common feature, usually it strikes to the gongs.
The escapement is Breguet ruby cylinder variation, it has parachute anti-chock and bi-metallic compensation curb.
Watch is signed by Breguet N 1191 on the dust cover and by Breguet & Fils on the silver dial.
The back cover also bears Breguet serial number as well as case number and French period hallmarks.

Condition
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The movement is running as it should, though I don’t guarantee time keeping.

Cosmetically it’s quite fine.
The silver dial is perfect. The case is also in good condition.
Original blued steel hands. Mineral glass.
Watch came with Breguet ratchet key on the 585 gold chain.
