Rare and beautiful pocket watch for Chinese market in beautiful silver gilt case.
Diameter is 55mm, height without bow is 69mm, weight is 124 grams.
It's based on nicely finished Fleurier 21" calibre.
Movement is richly gilt and engraved, it features side lever escapement.
The back cover and movement are signed with hieroglyphs, which seems to be attributable to Jequier production.
The watch is richly decorated with enamel portrait of Western young lady on the blue guilloche background and half-pearls to the rim, bow and pendant.
Portrait is very skilfully performed, with delicate halftones and gold nuances. Probably work of Geneva artist.
Comparable watch of smaller size by Jequier was by Antiquorum auction house for 12500 CHF (lot 226, sale 13 May 2012).
Condition
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The enamel is beautifully preserved with some surface scratches and minor defect in lower part.
Dial seems to be flawless.
Movement is in good running condition, however time keeping isn't guaranteed and I recommend cleaning as usual.
