Beautiful ultra-thin gold watch by Cartier.
Diameter is 46mm, weight is 36 grams.
Cartier in their manufacturing records used “Couteau” (Knife) term to describe this type of ultra-thin watches with knife-edge cases.
The case is of an unusual construction with its two-body (cover and case-back).
These watches with less than 4 mm thick are among the thinnest mechanical watches ever produced.
For it's thin watches from first half of XX century Cartier used movements from Jaeger, who had just invented a movement of 7.75 douzièmes (only 2 mm. thick). In 1920s Cartier and Edmund Jaeger formed a joint venture The European Watch and Clock Co, which signature one can find on many Cartier movements.
Cartier watches produced in 1910s, early 1920s - before alliance with Jaeger mostly have unsigned movements, what is the case for this watch.
Condition
The watch appears to be in good condition.
The movement runs, but cleaning is recommended as usual.
The dial is in good condition, but as usual has some minor surface scratches.
Case is quite fine with some minor defects.
