I'm sure there is no need to introduce Vacheron Constantin - Geneva based company that is in TOP 3 of world best and expensive watches manufacturers. Besides Vacheron Constantin, this watch is signed by Veuve Vacheron (Widow Vacheron) . Widow Vacheron runs business only few years, at very late of 1860, beginning of 1870. Very rare inscription. Unusual is the fact that woman runs such a "men" business as watchmaking in conservative XIX century. There are very few lady watchmakers known to this date.
The quality is excellent. Bucolic enamel "illustrates well the taste of nineteenth century clientele for the Louis XV style". Besides Vacheron Constantin, similarly designed watches were made by Patek Philippe, one of them from the company museum are illustrated at the last photo.
Typical Vacheron movement is nice and clean. It's in excellent running condition. Dust cover is also marked by French retailer - Maria Girard and dated by 1873. All the case is made of 18k gold and is hallmarked on every piece.
Weight with key is 28 grams, or 0.98 oz. Diameter is 31mm or 1.02", height without bow is 34mm (1.56")
